Daniil Kvyat will not be seen on the Formula 1 grid in 2021 and will hand over his seat to Yuki Tsunoda, who will make his debut in the sport for AlphaTauri. Red Bull Racing advisor Helmut Marko announces that we will not see Kvyat again in a Red Bull team.

Kvyat has not shown enough

"He showed some speed in the last two or three races," Marko opens the conversation with Motorsport-Total.com. However, Kvyat was a lot slower than teammate Pierre Gasly over the whole season. "That's too little with all the routine and experience he has."

That was the big reason that Kvyat does not have a seat at AlphaTauri before 2021. Marko also confirms that Kvyat will no longer be part of the Red Bull drivers from now on. "This topic is closed to us."

Relegation after relegation

The Russian driver's Formula 1 career was full of relegations. In 2016 he was brought back early from Red Bull to Toro Rosso so Max Verstappen could race for Red Bull. Just before the end of 2017 he had to make way for Gasly at Toro Rosso. He returned in 2019 for two more seasons at Toro Rosso/AlphaTauri which is now also coming to an end.
