Max Verstappen can once again count on compliments from Italy after his performance in the British Grand Prix at the Silverstone circuit. According to Autosprint the Red Bull Racing driver manages to fully exploit the potential of the RB16. The much read magazine would therefore like to see Verstappen next to Lewis Hamilton at Mercedes.

"Verstappen performs sublime this year", can be read in the most recent edition of the Italian magazine. It philosophizes out loud about a switch from Verstappen to Mercedes. "How wonderful it would be to see him driving next to Lewis. That would be fantastic for Formula 1."

Many fans and analysts wonder who would be the winner at the moment that Verstappen and Hamilton would drive in an equal car. However, this does not seem to happen for the time being, since the 22-year old Dutch driver is still tied up at Red Bull until 2023 and Hamilton seems to extend his career at Mercedes by two years.

Will Gasly return to Red Bull?

Despite the fact that Red Bull's 2020 car isn't as competitive as hoped, Verstappen 'just' performs at top level. "They (Red Bull) have one driver who knows how to get the most out of it", they write. Less complimentary is written about Alexander Albon. "A good teammate would help Max, so the question is what Christian Horner and Helmut Marko are going to do." Autosprint mentions the name of Pierre Gasly of AlphaTauri as a possible replacement for Albon.
