Mercedes is the team that will continue to dominate Formula 1 in 2020. Ferrari and Red Bull Racing have not managed to narrow the gap last winter and that means that it seems to be a fairly one-sided year in the royal class of motor racing. According to Max Verstappen, nobody can stop the German world champion, but it is Jack Plooij who thinks differently.

"Not true. There is someone who can and that's Max", he responds in an interview with Motorsport.com. However, the Ziggo Sports journalist is of the opinion that Red Bull should then make the right material available to the Dutch eight-time Grand Prix winner. "But then he should have the right stuff."

Hamilton anticipated brilliantly

A world title seems far away, but the first win of the season came awfully close for Verstappen on Sunday. "How much luck did Lewis get? If it had happened eight seconds earlier, he wouldn't have made it. He put the brake pressure all the way to the front, so the tire wouldn't spin and the shreds wouldn't fly off. That's how he escaped a warning. Really brilliant. He's just so good", the pit reporter praises the six-time world champion.

Red Bull has a big surprise to conjure up next weekend if it wants to be on the top step of the podium. "Then we'll have even softer tyres and they'll have to make two pit stops. Max is right to say that Mercedes will win easily. But he would have to gamble on one pit stop, saving 28 to 30 seconds. Then it will still be exciting", said Plooij, who concluded by saying that he still doesn't want to put a world title for Verstappen completely out of his head.
