Sainz bids farewell to Ferrari in style with two-million-euro Daytona SP3
- Savannah Lenz
In true Ferrari fashion, Carlos Sainz has treated himself to a new car. Sainz has decided to bid Ferrari farewell in the best way possible, with a custom-made Ferrari Daytona SP3. Sainz will drive for Williams Racing from 2025 on out but that didn't stop him from dropping €2 million on his former teams brand beforehand.
Sainz buys €2 million Ferrari Daytona SP3
One of the many privileges of being a Ferrari driver is that you can buy from the most prestigious car brand. This includes Ferrari's latest models, which are only produced in limited editions, with a certain quantity released. Not everyone can walk away with one of these cars, regardless of money and status.
As the 2024 year is his last year with Ferrari, Sainz chose to treat himself to a new car. His new Ferrari Daytona SP3 is personalised with his racing number, 55 and his nickname, Smooth Operator. The Ferrari Daytona SP3 was one of 599 made, and it boasts 840 HP. The car itself is worth over two million euros.
Despite rumours that the car was a gift from his now former team, that is not true. Ferrari's parting gift to Sainz was the F1-75. Sainz won his first-ever grand prix with the F1-75 in 2022. He received the car after he drove the Fiorano circuit one last time. His father, rally legend Carlos Sainz Sr., was also there and was able to drive the circuit as well.
