2023 has proved to be yet another lucrative year for the drivers on the grid. According to Forbes, these drivers earned the most in the past year. The leader of the list can credit over $70 million.

Outsmide the top ten are both drivers from Haas, Alfa Romeo, Williams and AlphaTauri. Esteban Ocon and Lance Stroll also fall just outside. They have all earned less than a total of $8 million. The top 10 consists of the following drivers:

In shared ninth place are Pierre Gasly and Oscar Piastri. Both received $8 million in 2023. At spot eight: George Russell. A salary of $4 million plus a bonus of $5 million is a total of $9 million. From spot seven to spot four, the order is Carlos Sainz, Lando Norris, Charles Leclerc and Sergio Perez. Respectively, they could see $14 million, $15 million, $19 million and $26 million in their accounts.

Verstappen comfortably in the lead

The top three equal the podium in Australia this year! Alonso received 34 million, 10 million of that in bonuses. Hamilton, on the other hand, has received zero dollars in bonuses. Still, he is in second place with $55 million. And at number one, as expected by now, Max Verstappen. $70 million came in for the Dutchman. No wonder there was demand for a 'Max Verstappen levy'.
