Two days ago, the new season of Drive to Survive has premiered on Netflix. Known for showing events in a dramatic way, this season is no different, as Verstappen did not understand the coverage of the Miami GP.
In Season 7 of the show, Episode 2 is titled 'Frenemies', where the narrative is about the battle between two friends off the track, Max Verstappen and Lando Norris. Christian Horner and Zak Brown also make the episode more colourful with their commentary.
The 2024 Miami GP seemed like a turning point the previous season, when McLaren introduced a new set of upgrades. That weekend, after the Safety Car was called out, Norris could take the lead and did not look back.
While Norris cheerfully took his first ever victory in Formula 1, the Dutchman finished second in the state of Florida. While the McLaren driver was celebrating, Netflix portrayed Verstappen very disappointed.
Verstappen reacts
In a Team Redline livestream, the Dutchman responded to the scene. "Apparently I was very upset after Miami. I literally had the best time ever Sunday night. So, I don't know what I was upset about," in these clips, one from the Zandvoort weekend also appears, that can be distinguished by the flag that is on the Pirelli cap.
Verstappen has not been the fan of the Netflix series for a long time, and previously therefore has preferred for a long time not to take part. Since the middle of the 2022 season, he began working together with the crew, but on certain conditions, with for example having the right to say in moments that filming cannot take place.
