Windsor did not expect this from Verstappen: 'He is now a two-time champion'

Red Bull Racing had a wheel gun issue during Max Verstappen's second pit stop in the United States. Verstappen reacted a little too aggressively to the mistake, according to Peter Windsor. Windsor did not expect that from the two-time world champion.
Verstappen had a fairly comfortable lead, but lost it the moment he entered the pit lane for yellow medium tyres that he wanted to use for his final stint. Something went wrong with the 'wheel gun', causing the normally fast Red Bull to do an 11-second pit stop. As a result, Verstappen lost positions to rivals Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton. Verstappen's frustration could be heard sarcastically over the team radio. Verstappen himself also said after the race that all sorts of swear words were going through his head.
Windsor expected better from Verstappen
According to F1 expert Windsor, Verstappen's aggression was not entirely necessary. In a YouTube video says the Briton: "Max was a little aggressive over the team radio. Of course he was upset, but he is a double world champion, he has secured the championship this year and the race was ahead of him. Instead of him saying, 'Don't worry guys, we can do this', it was just, 'Thanks guys, thanks ****."
According to Windsor, Verstappen could have handled the situation better and avoided his team's reaction. Indeed, Windsor says: "One of his engineers had to come on the radio and tell him, 'Max, we are all in this together. Let's go for it'. In the end, that is what he did and he delivered a typical Max Verstappen performance."
