Horner relieved after end of F1 season: 'Busy on and off the track'
Red Bull Racing team principal Christian Horner is relieved that racing for 2024 is now over. The Briton underlined it was a very intensive season for his team, having to deal with a lot of pressure on and off the track.
Horner: 'In Milton Keynes, everyone should be very proud'
For Red Bull Racing and Horner, it was a very tiring season. Just before it has began, the team principal was accuesd of transgressive behaviour, for which he has since been cleared. Then, many key figures were announced to leave the team, including Adrian Newey, and sporting director Jonathan Wheatley. Moreover, the RB20 was nowhere near as dominant as the RB19 especially after the Miami GP.
"This season has certainly been a busy year off track and on track. But I think what is the most important thing to reflect on this year is the way the team has stuck together, has worked as a team," Horner told GPblog among others.
Despite the difficulties, Max Verstappen could secure his fourth title in a row. Even as McLaren were crowned as constructors' championship this season, Horner looks at the season positively. "Whilst Abu Dhabi didn't go our way, one week ago we won a big race in Qatar. The nine victories that we achieved, all those statistics that I just mentioned, if you weren't comparing it to 2023, it's still a hell of a year. So to all the men and women back in Milton Keynes that have worked crazy hours, they can be very proud of what they've achieved this year," the team principal concluded.
