The final starting grid took a long time to arrive due to a number of drivers still under investigation by the stewards. It was unclear whether Max Verstappen would be penalised for possibly ignoring a double yellow flag in qualifying.

Verstappen and Bottas penalised, Sainz escapes

It was a long time coming, but Verstappen and Bottas have both received penalties for ignoring yellow flags. Verstappen was penalised for ignoring a double yellow flag, which sends him down five places. Bottas ignored a single yellow flag and receives a three place penalty for ignoring it.

The last driver who was looked at for a similar incident got away with it. Carlos Sainz receives no penalty and even moves up a place due to Verstappen's penalty. Pierre Gasly is now the surprise in second position.
