Qualification duels | Hamilton and Verstappen strike again
- GPblog.com
After sixteen races in the championship, the proportions in the qualifying duels between the drivers are beginning to take serious shape. Max Verstappen, Pierre Gasly, George Russell and Mick Schumacher are all making big moves against their teammates.
Verstappen is ahead of Sergio Perez, who has only beaten him twice so far on Saturday. Gasly and Russell even remain unbeaten: they both start ahead of their teammate for the sixteenth time in a row.
The differences are smaller in the midfield: Fernando Alonso, for example, has taken the upper hand over Esteban Ocon, who did better throughout much of the first half of the season. Sebastian Vettel and Lance Stroll are also neck and neck: Stroll is ahead this time, but has some catching up to do compared to his teammate.
