Horner predicts tough race: 'Limit damage due to dominant Mercedes'

For Red Bull Racing, the Russian Grand Prix seemed the perfect opportunity to take a grid penalty with Max Verstappen, introducing a fourth engine. However, Mercedes opted to use a new engine with Valtteri Bottas as well. As a result, the Finn will start ahead of Verstappen and could block the Dutchman.
Christian Horner also expects Bottas to be a blocker, but doesn't think Mercedes are doing it on purpose. "We are not privy to all there information. So, obviously they said its for tactic reasons and you can read into it as you want but our focus is on race. We just need to get on with it. Its going to be a fascinating race with a threat of rain as well," the Red Bull team boss explained to Sky Sports.
Red Bull expects dominant Mercedes
"Our focus is on what we are doing. We can't control Mercedes. We are going to attack this race and see where we come out," explained Horner. After all the preparations for the race, Red Bull do already have a clear idea of the battle order and they expect Hamilton to be able to get past the top three, to drive to victory without worry.
"Our focus is on what we are doing. We can't control Mercedes. We are going to attack this race and see where we come out," Horner concluded.
