There seems to be no question of Vettel saying farewell to Formula 1. Both driver and team have indicated in the media that they still want to continue their relationship. Vettel said it first and now also team boss Stroll says that they will do everything to extend the contract.
Auto Motor und Sport quotes the Canadian billionaire: "We are delighted to have Sebastian on our team. It is our intention to continue working with him next year and beyond."
Vettel's ambitions off the track
Stroll emphasizes that Vettel's commitment to environmental and climate protection doesn't really interest him. However, it also does not stand in the way of the possible extension: "It does not affect our great desire to keep him at our Formula One team."
Although based on the press releases from driver and team boss, it appears that renewal of the cooperation is imminent, no official message has yet come out. Whether there is some delay, or if there is more to the story, remains speculation.
