Gasly admits: 'Red Bull wants to maintain balance between Verstappen and Perez'

Last week in Belgium it was announced that Sergio Perez will stay with Red Bull Racing in 2022. Sad for Pierre Gasly, who now seems to be in good shape at AlphaTauri. There is a big chance that he will keep his place at AlphaTauri, as Red Bull wants to keep the Frenchman within their teams. He explains this in conversation with Motorsport-Total.
"It seems they are happy with the balance between Sergio and Max," Gasly acknowledged. Perez is capable of taking a lot of points away from rivals and is currently one of the most experienced drivers who was among Red Bull's options. For Gasly it's a pity that Red Bull won't take the gamble with the Frenchman again.
Gasly happy at AlphaTauri
He himself is now putting the focus on a future with AlphaTauri. "I'm just paying attention to my job and I want to perform as well as I can with the car I can get. We are currently fighting for fifth place against Aston Martin and Alpine. It's a very good dynamic and everyone loves it. The results are also very good."
This season Gasly has already been on the podium once in Baku, having been on the podium twice before for the team from Faenza. "I'm in a happy place right now and if we take fifth place in the constructors' championship this season it would mean a lot personally," Gasly concluded.
