Revised World Championship standings after Vettel's disqualification
- GPblog.com
The disqualification of Sebastian Vettel after the Hungarian Grand Prix is especially painful for him and his team, but it also has consequences for the battle for the world title. Lewis Hamilton for example goes into the summer break with a slightly larger buffer.
Both Hamilton and Max Verstappen move up one place in the final standings of the Hungarian GP thanks to Vettel's disqualification. Hamilton gains three points, while Verstappen only gains one point.
Other big beneficiaries of this loss of Vettel and Aston Martin are Carlos Sainz, who gains a podium place, and AlphaTauri and Williams. Both teams have two drivers who move up a place. Especially for Williams this will be very important in their battle with Alfa Romeo.
