Bottas very happy with qualifying: "Just a shame about that penalty..."

Valtteri Bottas knows even before the race starts that he will have a tough Sunday afternoon, thanks to the grid penalty he received on Friday. A good qualifying session is therefore extra important for the Finn and he has made sure of that. With the second-fastest time, he is still in with a chance of a podium.
"It's a shame about the penalty, because of that I will start tomorrow in fifth place. I would have preferred to start from second place. It was a strong qualifying when I look at the free practices, in FP2 and FP3 I was still struggling a bit with the car. But we found the right setup and it was a lot better feeling. I got the most out of the car. In my first run in Q3 I only had traffic with Tsunoda, so I lost a couple of tenths. So maybe there was a bit more to come," Bottas said just after qualifying.
On the attack against Red Bull
"Of course we know I'll get the penalty for the race, so we thought the mediums will be the best option. Hopefully the drivers on softs will have a bit of an advantage at the beginning of the race. Tomorrow is a new day, so we'll see. We can definitely attack Red Bull Racing," the Finn assured.
