After 2021, the Japanese Grand Prix will stay on the calendar for a longer time. Formula 1 has signed a new three-year contract and will therefore travel to Suzuka for the race until at least 2024.

This is what Motorsport.com reports. The Grand Prix contract actually expired after 2021, but it has now been decided that Suzuka will remain on the calendar for another three years. F1 CEO Stefano Domenicali says he is pleased with the extension of the contract.

Satisfaction with Domenicali and promoter

"Japan holds a special place in the hearts and memories of F1 fans around the world. Suzuka was host to many legendary moments of the sport, for example eleven world championships were decided there," Domenicali reveals.

The director of promoter Mobilityland says he is grateful. "We want to express our gratitude towards the members of Formula 1, starting with Mr. Stefano Domenicali, for the great understanding that was shown during the negotiations," says director Kaoru Tanaka.
