Sergio Perez makes the switch to Red Bull this season. There he will drive alongside Max Verstappen. The Mexican is an experienced driver. Therefore he has several sponsors. With one he is now in trouble.

'Party worked in advance and in bad faith'

It is all about a sponsorship contract with Pemex. According to the Red Bull driver, that sponsor terminated the contract prematurely. That is why he now wants to see a sum of 2.8 million dollars.

The contract was initially in the name of MG1 Asistencia Integra, the outsourcing company of Pemex. Perez says in the Mexican Reforma newspaper that this party cancelled the contract "in advance and in bad faith". That is why he went to court. The court rejected the money claim because both parties appealed an earlier ruling.

Perez came over from Racing Point. There he managed to write history last season. By winning the Sakhir Grand Prix he stood on the podium as number 1 for the first time in his career. Who knows what the Mexican will bring this year.
