A penalty that forced him to start from the back meant that Pierre Gasly's race would never be easy. Still, the Frenchman wants to see answers as to why the race was so dramatic for AlphaTauri.

Both Gasly and teammate Daniil Kvyat finished outside the points. The opening lap of the 24-year old driver was still very good, he rose six places. But unfortunately this couldn't change the fact that he finished 13th, a place behind his teammate.

"Whole weekend was bad"

"The whole weekend was very bad," says Gasly on the Formula1.com site. "It went very badly on the wet track. Frankly, it's a bit embarrassing how badly it went. It didn't work out with the inters either, we couldn't get it to work. That also applied to the qualifying. We received a penalty there, so we had a lot of problems. We have to do better, because it was just a bad performance on our part. We will have to work hard in the next races.

"There were of course very special circumstances that I don't expect us to see again soon. But it is important for everyone to understand what went wrong and why. We already had some answers on Saturday, but we didn't manage to improve on Sunday. But still, we should have anticipated this, then we could have done better," said Gasly.
