Lewis Hamilton's remarks about his future have caused quite a few rumours, but David Croft expects that after his 2020 title win, the Brit will announce that he will stay with Mercedes in Formula 1.
After the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix, Hamilton announced that he did not yet know whether he would be active in Formula 1 in 2021, so people immediately wondered why there was still no contract. Maybe Hamilton will stop after his seventh world title. Sky Sports commentator does not think so.

''First of all, we don't know what the contract issues are. It could just be with Toto Wolff having his future undecided, hinting that he's going to take a back step from the day-to-day running. Who is Lewis negotiating with? Is it Wolff, is the head of Mercedes Benz, is it someone else? Could there be a logistical reason? Could it simply be he wants to win the title before sorting his future out," says Croft at Sky Sports.
According to Croft, we shouldn't take Lewis' remarks too seriously. ''I fully expect Lewis to be around. He's not going to want to stop. Realistically, he could be an eight, nine or ten-time world champion. That's attractive. Maybe it's the money, but both sides are going to come out with a deal that is good for Mercedes and Hamilton," concludes Croft.
