"Hamilton and Bottas get less credits than they deserve"

Things will have to go awry if Lewis Hamilton is not to secure his seventh world title this weekend. The dominance of Mercedes continues, which would almost make you forget how good Hamilton really is.
Credits for Mercedes
In his column for Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf, Jan Lammers discusses the dominance of Mercedes. "You hear some people say: yes, nice and easy in that Mercedes of his. That is actually quite funny. For drivers it is often a disadvantage that they have a bad car, but for Hamilton and his team mate Valtteri Bottas it is almost a disadvantage that they have such a good car."
Because of dominance you would almost forget how good Hamilton really is. "And because Hamilton is so good, you would almost forget what a good driver Bottas is. At least he shows that at many moments, especially during qualifying on Saturday, he is not inferior to Hamilton."
Dream scenario
There are quite a few rumours about the future of Hamilton at Mercedes and in Formula 1, but Lammers hopes that he will continue for the time being. "I still hope for the absolute dream scenario: a duel with Max Verstappen. In the current situation they would then have to be in one team."
For 2021 Lammers hopes that Red Bull will be able to get a little closer to Mercedes in the final year with Honda. "That could give Max the opportunity to attack the throne. We will have to wait and see. There is confidence from Red Bull and Honda, but Mercedes can also improve just like that. You think time and time again: there is no room for improvement, but they prove otherwise time and time again. That suits a large organisation like Mercedes. That institution is also worthy of a compliment.”
