Marko: 'Against Max, everyone probably loses out in qualifying"

Alexander Albon is under great pressure at Red Bull Racing and with Sergio Perez and Nico Hulkenberg, there are two clear candidates behind him. According to Helmut Marko, however, it will not be easy for those two alongside Max Verstappen.
Since the departure of Daniel Ricciardo, Red Bull have had a clear problem. With Max, the first seat is filled, but Pierre Gasly and Alexander Albon have both not really lived up to expectations. Albon still has a chance, but Marko is also clear about his expectations.
Albon working on his last races?
"Albon will stay in the car until the end of this season and then we will make a decision. There are some good drivers available on the market. Perez and Hulkenberg, for example, are options," says the Austrian to Auto, Motor und Sport. However, Marko warns those two in advance.
''Against Max everyone, except Lewis Hamilton, probably loses out in qualifying. In the race, however, we need someone who can constantly deliver the performance. Albon is a puzzle for us. He has the talent but lacks consistency and confidence. In some corners, he wins something on Max, but in a simple corner or with the wind he can lose a lot of time," Red Bull's top man concludes.
