Sebastian Vettel has been having problems staying close to teammate Charles Leclerc throughout the season and this was again the case in Portimao. He's been slower than Leclerc almost all season, and despite scoring a single point in Portugal, he wasn't fussed.

"I am not happy with one point. I am not in here for a point," stressed the Ferrari driver to German RTL. "Today I had terrible problems in the first few laps to get temperature in the tyres. Just like yesterday, the car was very difficult to drive throughout the race."

Vettel at a loss

"I suddenly lost my grip the whole time and it was very difficult to gain confidence. That's why you don't have the speed. The lap times went up and down and weren't constant at all. The consistency is lacking. I'd better not say anything else about it. I tried everything."

Next season he can start with a clean slate at Aston Martin after what has been nothing but a nightmare for the German.
