Windsor praises Verstappen: 'Got the most out of his Red Bull again'

Due to the cancellation of the first two free practice sessions, qualifying for the Eifel Grand Prix was expected to spring some surprises. This was not quite the case, but according to Peter Windsor the world class drivers have once again shown their talent.
As no one could go out on Friday, teams had to be fully prepared for qualifying after just FP3. Max Verstappen showed that he is fast at the Nürburgring, but Valtteri Bottas also performed well on the classic track.
In qualifying, the Finn wasn't able to show that on his own until his last lap, taking pole position. "In Q3, Valtteri was able to feel 'The playing field is level now, I can just put a strong lap together'. And he was very good! He was as good as in FP3, he looked very fluent in the car and this time he was faster than Lewis in every sector," said Peter Windsor on his YouTube channel.
The great drivers show their class
Before Valtteri drove his fastest lap, Verstappen was in first place, which, according to Windsor, is another impressive achievement of the Dutchman. "Max Verstappen on P3. Probably with higher wear and tear on his front tyres in the race, but once again he definitely got the most out of his car," the experienced journalist says.
"And look at P4: Charles Leclerc in the Ferrari! That doesn't mean that Ferrari is back, but it is one of those Grands Prix where great drivers like Lewis Hamilton, Max Verstappen, Valtteri Bottas this weekend and Charles Leclerc can handle the conditions perfectly. They just go outside and drive their laps, in a weekend where everyone has problems. It's beautiful to see," concludes Windsor.
