Rosberg: 'If a tiny gap is there, then Verstappen will definitely go for it'

If anything has emerged from qualifying for the Eifel Grand Prix, it is that the difference between the drivers of Mercedes and Max Verstappen is small. According to Nico Rosberg it could therefore be an exciting fight.
Although the result seems fairly standard - two cars from Mercedes at the front followed by the car from Verstappen - that distorts the difference between the teams during qualifying. Up until the last minute the Dutchman seemed to have a chance at pole position, but with his last attempt Valtteri Bottas managed to take the place.
Nico Rosberg doesn't dare to guess who has the best chance of winning tomorrow. "If there's a tiny gap, Max will definitely go for it. They all have a chance," says the former world champion in front of the camera of Sky Sports.
The weakness of Hamilton
According to the German, his successor also delivered the perfect message. "His lap was perfect. And under all that pressure! That's exactly the message he needs to send to Lewis: 'It's not over yet, I'm still fighting for the championship'. If he can continue like this tomorrow, that would be great," Rosberg continued.
It won't surprise Lewis Hamilton's former teammate if the Brit has lost his momentum because of the events in Russia. "That's a weakness Lewis has. Sometimes he can lose his momentum and fall into a dip and then perform less for a few races. You have to try to keep him there and then maximize your own results," Rosberg advises Bottas.
