Bottas happy with uncertainty: "Who knows what will happen?"

Valtteri Bottas managed to secure pole position during qualifying, despite the apparently competitive Red Bull and World Championship leader Lewis Hamilton getting close to his time. There is however a lot of uncertainty before the race, which only encourages the Finn.
In qualifying on Saturday, it looked like it was between Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton. The two top drivers were closely matched in Q2, and after the first run in Q3, the Dutchman led the standings. The only thing that came out of the box was Valtteri Bottas with a very strong lap.
"I think Red Bull and Max were very fast today. At the start of qualifying, I actually saw that it was going to be an exciting fight with them," the Finn said to Ziggo Sport's camera.
"I think it was especially important with this weather today to get the tyres in the best condition in the outlap. That was the key. In my last attempt I managed that and the lap itself was also very good. I finally managed to set a good time in sector one. That was the decisive factor," Bottas explains.
Questions for the race
Due to the circumstances on Friday, the two free practice sessions have been cancelled, which causes a lot of confusion. "It's hard to predict what to expect from the tires, we're all missing data due to the small distance we've driven. That's nice, I think. Who knows what will happen? Who knows how the tyres will react? We're going to see it."
"It's fun for everyone. I think we practice too much. We have so much data, we know exactly how the tires are, but now there are some question marks and that's a nice feeling. We don't need a Friday. Just start on Saturday and go for it," concludes the driver of Mercedes.
