The Italian Grand Prix at Monza this weekend would actually be held without fans in the stands. Ferrari now announces in its preview that 250 very special people have been invited to attend the race live.

No fans to date

The Formula 1 season has currently had seven races in 2020, all of which have taken place along the track without fans. This will only really change in Mugello when almost 3000 fans are welcome for the first Grand Prix of Tuscany.

First fans in Monza

However, the stands in Monza will not be completely empty. Ferrari has put as many as 250 doctors and nurses on its guest list for the Italian Grand Prix. People were on the front line during the corona crisis and will be able to attend Ferrari's home race.

"There will be 250 very special people in the grandstands, socially distanced of course: doctors and nurses will be guests at the track, as a symbolic honour for their courage, sense of duty and altruism as front line workers in the fight against Covid-19", writes Ferrari on its website.
