Power Rankings: Still very exciting between Hamilton and Verstappen
- GPblog.com
On the circuit the battle at the front of the Spanish Grand Prix was again between Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen, while Valtteri Bottas had a bad start. Also in the Power Rankings of Formula1.com he can't keep up with the other two.
This is where Hamilton and Verstappen battle it out in a neck-and-neck race, where last week Verstappen took the lead in the standings with a perfect score for his race at Silverstone. In Spain it was Hamilton who dominated, but this time he has to settle for a 9.8.
Fighting for P3 is also exciting
Verstappen gets a 9.0 for his strong race to second place, but that's just not enough to keep the lead in the standings. Hamilton now has 54.8 and Verstappen 54.6 points. Lando Norris is still third (47.8 points), even though he was not in the top ten of the Power Rankings this time.
We do see his teammate there. Carlos Sainz came third with an 8.8, making him the biggest climber of the week and is now shared fourth with Bottas and Pierre Gasly. The big surprise of the week was Kimi Raikkonen, who placed the Alfa Romeo in Q2 for the first time this year and is rewarded with a 7.8.
