Alexander Albon impressed during the second Grand Prix of Silverstone with his overtaking on Sunday. However, the pressure is not yet off the shoulders of the Thai, because qualifying is still not going according to plan and the gap to Max Verstappen is still too big.

Albon can catch up

"Sunday's going well every time. So it's not that I suddenly had more self-confidence now, but we just had a very strong car compared to our competition'', Albon says when asked where the confidence in the RB16 came from to suddenly catch up with Silverstone.

''Overtaking is not easy at Silverstone, so I felt I had to do it in those difficult places'', Albon says about his overtaking on the outside of Copse. On Saturday, however, Albon still has to take another step, as he won't get the Red Bull Racing car to the limit yet.

Qualifying Albon needs to do better

''It's not that hard to get those tyres in the right window for that qualifying session, but it's more the rhythm during such a session. Last week it went a lot better, but my last run just wasn't as I hoped. This weekend I want to continue the good line and hope for a better result'', the Thai said at the press conference.

When Albon is asked about the gap towards Verstappen, he mainly looks at himself. ''You're not looking at your teammate's dates all the time. You're trying to improve yourself and gain confidence in the car. That was a lot better at Silverstone,'' Albon concludes.
