It was during last year's summer break that Pierre Gasly was told he was being put back from Red Bull to the smaller sister team Toro Rosso (now Scuderia AlphaTauri). Since then, Gasly has made a strong recovery, with his first podium finish in Brazil in 2019, for example. Also this year Gasly is performing above average and that certainly hasn't gone unnoticed.

It was Red Bull advisor Helmut Marko who promoted Gasly to Red Bull and then back to Toro Rosso. But now the Austrian seems to be very satisfied with Gasly again: "I know Marko is really happy with the results and performance, whether in qualifying or racing," says Gasly himself to Motorsport-Total.com.

Back to Red Bull?

Due to the poor performance of Alexander Albon at Red Bull, a return of Gasly to the top team may seem closer than expected. In any case, Gasly isn't working on it at the moment: "Almost every weekend we get the full potential out of the car, even if we don't get off to a good start on Friday. So I'm really happy with our work as a team. And that's what I'm focused on. I just want to deliver every weekend and take my chances. That's the only goal."
