Mercedes will be driving in Austria this weekend with its own DAS system. Red Bull Racing is considering to submit a protest at the FIA, but the Austrian team itself may have a similar system available.

At Sky Sports, Christian Horner hints that Red Bull itself has developed something similar to the DAS concept, but that it is not yet to be found on the RB16.

Red Bull not yet convinced

Horner wants more clarity from the FIA about what is and what is not allowed on the car. Red Bull is also not yet sure if it will drive with its own system in 2020. "It depends what it actually does and achieves. Everything has to earn it’s place on the car. Obviously it’s a clever system, an ingenious system, these rules are so complex, it’s just understand in which part of the regulations it fits.”

Valtteri Bottas tested the DAS system for Mercedes in the first free practice. It is still unclear how much profit the Brackley-based race team can achieve with DAS.
