After a two-day test day at Mercedes, Racing Point's car will also be on display at Silverstone next week for a test. One big difference: Racing Point will appear on the track with the current car.

Since the winter tests in Barcelona the Formula 1 drivers haven't driven a single meter in an F1 car and it's good to get used to that again. Testing is no longer allowed in Formula 1 and so Mercedes chose to let Valtteri Bottas and Lewis Hamilton drive for two days in an old Mercedes from 2018.

Racing Point makes meters

Racing Point will appear on the track on 17 June, but unlike their colleagues, Sergio Perez and Lance Stroll are allowed to crawl into a 2020 car. This is because Racing Point has another movie day which they can use. Teams are officially allowed to drive 100 kilometres for promotional purposes for two days, which is now being put to good use by Racing Point.

''We look forward to seeing how competitive we will be when the season starts. Even at the Hungaroring and Silverstone we expect to have good results and then we will return to Barcelona, where our winter tests looked good'', says Otmar Szafnauer opposite Motorsport.com.
