Alex Albon feels “Mercedes look strong”

Albon Albon has said that “Mercedes look strong” from what he’s seen in testing so far while stating his goal of closing the gap in level of performance to Red Bull teammate Max Verstappen.
Albon had an unfortunate Wednesday in testing after issues with the front suspension of his RB16 left him only able to complete 29 laps.
While the Red Bull camp are confident in the ability of their 2020 car, the Thai driver feels Mercedes have set the standard so far.
"Mercedes looks strong," says the Thai in front of the camera at F1TV. "That's a conclusion we can draw so far.
“For our part, the team said to me that Melbourne was difficult last year, but that it gradually got better during the season. I don't speak from experience, because I wasn't there then."
Albon joined Red Bull from Toro Rosso (now Alpha Tauri) during the summer break last year, with many seeing his 2020 as a chance to prove he can perform to the same level as teammate Verstappen.
"Yes, that's one of the main goals I want to achieve this season,” he added.
“There's a lot going on behind the scenes to make that happen. We're trying to get the whole package tuned to me.
“It's still pretty new. After all, it's only been six months that we've been working together.
“It was therefore nice to get to know my mechanics during the winter. By going out to dinner with them, among other things."
