FIA monitoring China coronavirus situation ahead of Grand Prix
The FIA are watching the coronavirus situation in China following the outbreak of the disease, amid potential the Grand Prix in April may have to be cancelled. There have now been more than 6,000 cases of the virus, including some outside China.
The virus is believed to have originated in Wuhan and spread to other parts of the country, causing 132 deaths so far.
The Grand Prix is set for April 19 and the FIA says they will be monitoring it in th next days and weeks to make a decision on whether the Grand Prix goes ahead.
Schools and universities have already been closed and several sporting events moved or cancelled, with the Formula E race in Sanya on March 21 likely to be under serious threat of cancellation.
