Steiner has his say on proposed changes to race weekends
- Tom Mason
Haas's Guenther Steiner has admitted that he is in favour of changing a typical race weekend. As it stands, a race weekend begins on a Thursday with the media day before practice follows on Friday, with qualifying on Saturday and the race on Sunday.
F1 are looking into the idea of changing the weekend to make more races come on the calendar.
"It was a very busy Sunday [Suzuka Sunday]. The day has passed quickly, everyone is very busy and everything needs to be done faster, " Steiner said.
"I do not think it had an effect on the staff of the team, it just had to adapt and our guys adapted.
"I would just say maybe it was a bit too much for a day with qualifying and running the same day, but under those circumstances [a typhoon], it was the right decision."
