Verstappen wary of Ferrari threat in Mexico
- Tom Mason
Max Verstappen insists that he's fully aware just how strong a challenge Ferrari could pose at the Mexican Grand Prix. The Dutchman has won the past two races in Mexico which has made him the favourite by many to make it a hat-trick.
The 22-year-old is locked in an interesting battle with Ferrari duo Charles Leclerc and Sebastian Vettel for third place in the drivers' championship, with just nine points between the trio.
The Italian based team have shown an impressive top speed on the straight lines this season, which is why Verstappen is wary of the threat they could post this weekend.
"I am looking forward to returning to Mexico as the last two years have been very special with both victories. The Mexican Grand Prix is a big event and the fans are very passionate about Formula 1, " as quoted by F1 only.
"I think it will be a little tougher this year because of Ferrari's pace, but I think we can still have a very good race."
