Carlos Sainz upset about TV images: "The fans miss a lot of fights"
Carlos Sainz believes that Formula 1 fans miss out on a lot of the midfield battles because the TV cameras only focus on the top teams. The McLaren racer is frustrated by this because he wants to be seen more but is also worried that sponsors could get angry as they are not being shown.
“That annoys me, but that should totally annoy the team. As a result, the sponsors cannot be seen on television and that is not a good thing. I am not alone in this, many midfield teams have already complained about this. The fans miss battles that you don't see in the top," Sainz said to Speedweek.
Sergio Perez agrees with Sainz, “the big spectacle is in the midfield. I don't understand why they don't show that. The whole field should fight like that."
It is hard to capture the whole event but sometimes a whole race goes by and they haven't shown the McLaren who is racing for 'best of the rest.' It will be interesting to see if the TV producers listen to the drivers and if the teams are as angry as the drivers with the situation.
