Kevin Magnussen explains why Romain Grosjean is valuable to Haas
Haas drivers Kevin Magnussen and Romain Grosjean are not always the best of friends on track but Magnussen has revealed the importance of having the Frenchman as part of the team for 2020 and how much a role he has played in improving their car.
"Romain said from the start when we introduced the new specification of the car in Barcelona; that the car did not feel very okay. I was less worried about that at the time, because the feeling was not so disturbing. However, I didn't know if that new spec was faster," Magnussen said.
“We saw in the wind tunnel that the new version would be faster in theory, but when Romain went back to the earlier specification, he managed to qualify for me twice in a row. With the same specification, I was twice as fast in the last races," he continued.
"He did not really experience the older specification as a disadvantage, so it was a valuable experiment."
Haas will hope to have success with their two drivers for the following few years and that they can learn to avoid each other on track!
