Alex Albon: "It's not easy, but I enjoy the challenge"
Alex Albon is expected some support from some Thai fans at Singapore this weekend but insists that it is not a home race as Thailand is a two-hour flight away. However, the Red Bull driver is looking forward to racing in front of his family and will hope to continue to impress at his new team.
"You're still flying two hours, so it's not really a home race," Albon said to Motorspot-Total.com. "I still want to do well in front of my family."
Albon has not had a lot of experience driving the Singapore circuit but has done some simulator work.
"It's very technical, like in Monaco, but these 90-degree turns remind me of Baku. Looks like fun."
It wouldn't be unusual to be nervous about racing around a new circuit but Albon is looking forward to the challenge.
"It's not easy, but I enjoy the challenge. While you are pushing hard in the simulator in the first round, you have to be in the real world to really learn the track."
Albon did well this morning in FP1 and finished the session 5th. He will hope to get faster as the weekend goes on.
