New F1 team rumoured to join the grid in 2021!
Rumours have suggested that a new F1 team could be on the horizon to join the F1 grid in 2021, according to a source close to RaceFans.net.
Panthera Team Asia F1 are yet to apply to enter the series in 2021, with the window to entry expected to open once the major rule changes for 2021 are announced.
The last brand new team to join F1 was Haas in 2016, with the Americans being the only newcomers since the trio of Virgin (which became Marussia and later Manor), Lotus (which became Caterham) and HRT, all of which are no longer on the grid.
According to RaceFans, Panthera have already hired most of their senior positions, including appointing Tim Milne as head of aerodynamics, who worked with Manor before their collapse ahead of the 2017 season
The team are set to follow Haas' way, to use parts from suppliers rather than developing their own, to reduce costs.
So, what do you make of this? Will Panthera join F1 in 2021, and can they make an immediate impact?
