Alex Albon couldn't have asked for a better Formula 1 debut season. After impressing many at Toro Rosso, Red Bull have taken the decision to promote him up to the top team. Here's an interview Albon did before the move was announced. It's clear to see how much the youngster has leant in the past few months!

"All in all, I was quite satisfied with how the winter tests went," said Albon to Motorsport.com. “I was reasonably fast on speed. I just had to get used to the team and everything else that comes with Formula 1 apart from driving.

"That made it all a bit strange," admitted Albon. “At the start of the season, I also leaned very much on the feedback from Dany. I just didn't know everything about the car and therefore didn't make so many "calls" about how I actually wanted the car.

"It was just a bit of confidence that was missing because I didn't understand the car that well yet. But something like that grows naturally. The more you learn about the tires and what the strengths and weaknesses of your car are, the better your feedback will be and the better you can indicate how you want the car for the qualification and race."

Red Bull will hope that Albon has picked up some knowledge and that he provides the team with the points that Pierre Gasly was unable to get.
