Pierre Gasly was delighted with his performance on Friday at the British Grand Prix, as he topped the first practice session and finishing three tenths ahead of teammate Max Verstappen in FP2.

The Frenchman has obviously struggled since his move to Red Bull for the 2019 season, scoring only 43 points so far compared to Verstappen's 126, and rumours have been circulating suggesting his Red Bull days are already numbered.

However, if today's running was anything to go by, Gasly could be back to the form that earned his promotion from Toro Rosso.

According to Racefans.net, Gasly said: "For sure it’s the best Friday of the season. The changes seemed to work so we need to keep going in that direction.

“It was a really good day on our side. I’m happy because we made a lot of changes since Austria and we have a good plan and things to improve on my side also with the team all weekend.

“It seemed to work. It’s only Friday, we need to confirm tomorrow, but the feeling is a lot better from today.”
