Nico Hulkenberg says Renault have been a "mess" so far this season
Nico Hulkenberg has said that 2019 has been a "mess" for Renault so far this year and hopes that the team can turn things around this weekend at Monaco. At the start of the season, many though Renault would be competing for 4th but currently, the teams sit in 8th in the constructor's championship. The German admits that there is a lot of pressure but hopes that this will force the team to succeed.
"The season has been a bit of a mess, even if that is perhaps the wrong word for it," Hulkenberg is quoted by Grand Prix.com.
"Something has always meant we could not reach our full potential. We have to get out of that pattern now,
"The pressure has increased, but not so much that you cannot breathe," Hulkenberg said. "We want to do everything better, but we also cannot bend steel with our bare hands."
Renault will be disappointed with 2019 but will hope that a strong result in Monaco this weekend can kickstart their bounce back to the top of the midfield.
