Ricciardo hopes that new Renault update will bring success in Monaco
Daniel Ricciardo hopes that the Monaco Grand Prix marks the start of Renaults rise back to the top. The Australian has revealed that the team are bringing an update to the race this weekend and they will hope that this adds to their performance.
“This update is more about reliability," Ricciardo said to Motorsport.com. "When the team is happy with the engine, they can start pushing the limits a bit more. The first step is reliability.
"If they discover good things here, it can certainly result in more power. When the reliability is satisfactory, we can increase the capacity and do the things that others also do in the qualification.”
When asked about Renaults recent run of performance the Aussie said that there was pressure on the team.
“The expectations are higher than ever before, but we must not scare people away either. Sometimes you have to take a step back, take a deep breath and let people do their work. Putting people under pressure does not always work. I am not saying that we treat people incorrectly, but certain situations require certain treatments."
Renault will hope that they can put an end to their poor run of performance this weekend.
