It was previously announced that Red Bull would have to go to the British employment tribunal in January 2026, something the British media would not be allowed to report on due to an RRO (reporting restriction order). Helmut Marko has confirmed that news about the lawsuit is true, and indicates that he hopes that an agreement can be reached outside of the courtroom.

The Dutch daily newspaper “De Telegraaf” announced earlier this week that the former Red Bull employee who accused Horner of inappropriate behaviour has now gone to the employment tribunal. GPblog can confirm this news. The case will be heard in January 2026. Speaking to the Austrian oe24, Marko explained why the case took so long to appear.

Marko said, "Because the English courts have such long lead times. But I hope that calmness will be restored before then, that there will be a settlement, i.e. an out-of-court agreement."

When asked what he thinks of the boos towards Horner, the Austrian remained brief. "I won't comment on that," Marko responded.

Schumacher sees unrest at Red Bull continuing

Whereas Marko hopes calm will soon return to Milton Keynes, former F1 driver Ralf Schumacher expects something different. "I don't believe that calm will return," the German told Sky Sports. "He is someone who wants to control everything and take on more and more responsibilities. I believe he has managed to do that. Internally, he has made sure that Red Bull in Salzburg cares more about other sports, football and so on. I believe [Red Bull boss] Mintzlaff also has more affinity for that."
