According to Lewis Hamilton, Ferrari currently has the strongest driver pair on the entire Formula 1 grid with Charles Leclerc, who has been with the Italian Scuderia for years. Last winter, the former Mercedes driver announced his upcoming switch to Ferrari, and during the drivers' presentation in the heart of Milan, the seven-time world champion did not mince words by making a striking statement.

In the Ferrari cars, Leclerc and Hamilton tore across the streets of Milan in a driver presentation. Thousands of fans were present to watch the duo and be treated by Ferrari. Not only were the fans given caps, they were also allowed to ask the drivers and team principal, Frederic Vassuer, questions.

Hamilton makes bold statement about Ferrari

Hamilton said, “Today is another first to go with others I’m experiencing in what is already an unforgettable season for me. I can’t wait to get on track with this extraordinary team. I think we have everything we need to fight for the World Championship and I also believe that you fans can be our extra gear. I hope we will have a lot of fun together."

As far as how he feels about his teammate Charles Leclerc, he made a bold statement. ”We’re the strongest pairing F1 has probably ever had. I have always imagined what it would be like sitting in the cockpit, surrounded by red. I have always seen the drivers that have come before me in red and wondered how that would look on me.”

In a week's time, Hamilton is set for his debut Grand Prix weekend with the Italians. The previous two established world champions who were signed by the team could very soon get a taste of victory sitting in the red car, as Fernando Alonso won at his first weekend already, and it took also Sebastian Vettel only two weekends to claim his first P1 trophy for the Scuderia.
