Pierre Gasly is looking forward to this year's Las Vegas GP. Not only just to compete at the Grand Prix, but also the events in the city. Before the Frenchman boards his plane to the United States, he also need to empty his drawer at home. After all, there some chips lining around he needs to cash in next weekend.

Las Vegas stands out on the Formula One calendar. The racing does not take place during sunset or early on during the evening, but only late in the day are practice, qualifying and the Grand Prix. Moreover, the race takes place on Saturday night, rather than the usual Sunday. Therefore, this of course reschedules the drivers' preparations as well. "Vegas is always going to be fun," Pierre Gasly said. "But it can be quite hard for me, the timing of it, to stay awake until 5 am."

Gasly lost 'some money' in the casino

Indeed after the drivers have complete the sessions, the usual debriefs and talking to the media, with all the adrenaline still from driving, they have to chance to explore the city. Gasly also already did that in 2023.

"I found myself losing a bit of money at the blackjack table which wasn't really - turned out not to be that exciting. And I left Vegas with some Venetian chips in my bag which I can't really use for anything. So actually you make me think I've got to remember to take these chips with me this year to go and trade them back," he laughed.

"But it was quite unique. I think just the scenery, the sphere, the lighting around the city, it just makes it quite appealing and looking quite cool on TV," the Frenchman concluded.
