Damon Hill is leaving Sky Sports. The former British driver announced this via a post on X. The 1996 world champion is looking ahead to new challenges.

As a driver, Hill was successful. He won 22 Formula 1 Grand Prix and became world champion in 1996. Even after his career, Hill remained involved in Formula 1, but on television. Since 2012, he has been a regular pundit on Sky Sports.

For the channel, he often voiced his sharp opinions. In Brazil, he was critical of Max Verstappen's driving style. He argued that the Dutchman's interpretation of the rules in Mexico was cynical. However, after the race, which Verstappen managed to win from 17th starting position, he said the Red Bull driver had silenced the critics.

Hill bids farewell to Sky Sports F1

On Friday, Hill announced that he will be leaving Sky Sports. In the message, he wrote: "It's been a fantastic 13 years with SkySportsF1 but all good things come to an end. I will miss the most impressive bunch of professionals it has ever been my pleasure to have worked with. Looking forward to new challenges."
