How have F1 drivers spent their summer break?
Formula One is currently on its summer break, which comes to an end next week, when racing returns at the Dutch Grand Prix. However, since Belgium, drivers have been able to spend some time away from the track. Many of them have provided fans with updates on social media as to what they have been up to. Here's a round-up!
Mercedes: Russell and Hamilton
Following his disqualification at the last Grand Prix, George Russell has taken some much needed time to recharge. The Brit has shared frequently on social media snaps from his holiday with girlfriend Carmen Montero Mundt. The pair have spent some time in Spain, sharing multiple pictures of them on a boat, and dining out. His teammate, Lewis Hamilton, has also done some travelling. The seven-time world champion attended the Olympic games in Paris, supporting his friend Miles Chamley-Watson, who competed in the Fencing competition.
McLaren: Piastri and Norris
Both McLaren drivers have been fairly quiet over the summer break. Prior to this, it had been a busy, and successful season for the pair, who both sealed their maiden F1 wins. On his brand's account, LN4, Lando Norris could be found spending time with Swedish House Mafia, and also Quadrant athlete Keegan Palmer, who also competed in this year's Olympics. Unlike his teammate, Oscar Piastri has not revealed much about his summer, however he did break the news that he broke his rib earlier this season, and continued to race, which came as a surprise to many fans.
Williams: Albon and Sargeant
The Williams drivers have also made the most of the summer break. Alex Albon shared a picture on Instagram of his travels in Switzerland, with girlfriend and professional golfer, Lily Muni He. Logan Sargeant, who is one of the remaining drivers to confirm his plans for 2025, revealed to fans he had been spending his time in St Tropez, France, with his friends and family.
How have the other drivers spent their summer break?
Charles Leclerc shared snaps from Monte Carlo beach, whilst his girlfriend, Alexandra Saint Mleux, also posted pictures of the couple. Max Verstappen, Pierre Gasly, and Esteban Ocon have also been spending the time away from the track with their girlfriends. Valtteri Bottas has spent most of his time cycling, frequently sharing his adventures on social media. Many of the others, such as Hulkenberg and Tsunoda have provided updates over their time at home, unlike Carlos Sainz, who after announcing on the first day of the summer break he had signed with Williams has disappeared from social media. Nonetheless, all the drivers will soon be making a return to full-time training, as they prepare for the final ten races of the season.
