Max Verstappen was absent from the press conference at the British Grand Prix, but the world championship leader will be back in Hungary. The Red Bull Racing driver is in the first group, along with three former teammates. Daniel Ricciardo is one of them, and so the replacement for Nyck de Vries can be put to the test directly by the journalists present.

Interesting first group

In addition to Verstappen and Ricciardo, Pierre Gasly, Carlos Sainz and Oscar Piastri will also join in at 13:30. No doubt there will be questions about Ricciardo's first days with his new team, whether Ferrari will fare better at the Hungaroring after a difficult weekend at Silverstone and whether McLaren can also make the introduced updates work well in Budapest after strong weekends in Austria and Britain.

A good half-hour later, it is the turn of perhaps slightly less interesting names on paper. From the top teams, George Russell and Fernando Alonso slide in, while Guanyu Zhou, Logan Sargeant and Nico Hulkenberg (all hoping for one or more points this weekend) are present on behalf of the numbers seven to nine in the constructors' championship.

Like every Grand Prix weekend, there will be a press moment between the first and second free practice sessions with some team representatives. Franz Tost, Otmar Szafnauer and
Andrea Stella are first up. The former can surely expect several questions about why Daniel Ricciardo is driving the AT04 for the rest of 2023 and not Nyck de Vries. Xevi Pujolar, Andrew Shovlin and Dave Robson are the other three expected half an hour later.
