Qualifying for the Austrian Grand Prix is behind us and that means it is clear what the starting line-up (for Sunday) will look like. Max Verstappen will start from pole position for the fourth weekend in a row, while Charles Leclerc will be looking to take the lead straight from second. Nyck de Vries will come from last place.

Behind Verstappen and Leclerc, we see Carlos Sainz and Lando Norris representing the second starting row. The latter drove with the necessary updates on his MCL60, which seems to be a serious step forward based on qualifying at the Red Bull Ring. Lewis Hamilton and Lance Stroll will start in fifth and sixth respectively.

Many different teams in top-ten

The other men starting from the top-ten are named Fernando Alonso, Nico Hulkenberg, Pierre Gasly and Alexander Albon. That leaves us with no fewer than eight different teams among the first ten drivers. Once again confirmation that the field is hugely competitive. For Nyck de Vries, it will also be difficult to score points in Austria. So the Dutchman was the slowest starting last.

Grid penalties due to swapping engine parts are not an issue and so the result of qualifying also seems to be the starting grid in Spielberg. However, crashes in Saturday afternoon's sprint race could still throw a spanner in the works. The starting grid for that sprint race will still be determined by the Sprint Shootout.
